Jimmy Kimmel on Monday night slammed President Donald Trump for a “vile” social media post he shared depicting former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as apes.

“It’s just hard to believe he’s the president,” Kimmel lamented.

Trump refused to apologize and instead bragged about how “great” he has been for Black voters.

He eventually removed the video, and Kimmel said “spine-free” Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) somehow managed to use that as an opportunity to thank the president:

Thank you to President Trump for taking down the post about the Obamas. He made significant inroads with his outreach in the African American community which we need to continue. His post sent the wrong message despite how it may have been originally intended.

Kimmel laughed as the message appeared on the screen.

“Thank you, Senator Cassidy, for reminding us who the real hero of this story ―,” Kimmel said. “That is some triple Olympic-level brown-nosing right there.”
