The move grants ATA and its affiliates access to ITMF’s global platform, resources, and industry events. Members can participate in information exchanges, attend conferences, and utilise data such as statistics, reports, and surveys provided by ITMF.

Azerbaijani textile firms will also have opportunities to form new international partnerships and explore export growth.

ITMF members collectively account for an estimated 90% of worldwide textile and apparel production, representing the full spectrum of the manufacturing value chain.

The federation acts as a forum for the sector by conducting studies, publishing reports, and coordinating annual gatherings on industry developments.

ITMF director general Christian Schindler said: “Welcoming the Azerbaijan Textile Association as a new Member Association further strengthens ITMF’s global network. Azerbaijan’s textile sector has significant development potential, and ATA’s participation in ITMF will contribute to deeper international collaboration, knowledge sharing, and integration into the global textile value chain.”

ATA was established in 2018 to unify companies across cotton and textile production in Azerbaijan. Its activities include promoting sector growth, aligning practices with international standards, supporting professional training, adopting new technologies, and facilitating overseas cooperation.

It operates as a non-profit body dedicated to industry development through innovation and sustainability.

ATA’s membership in ITMF aligns with its aim to support sustainable growth, innovation, and global competitiveness in Azerbaijan’s textile sector.

ATA executive director Farida Akhundova said: “Joining ITMF marks an important milestone for Azerbaijan’s textile industry. It is a strategic step toward deeper integration into global markets and the adoption of international standards and innovations. ITMF membership opens new opportunities for our member companies to strengthen their competitiveness, expand exports, and build long-term international partnerships.”

"Azerbaijan to strengthen global textile ties through ITMF membership" was originally created and published by Just Style, a GlobalData owned brand.
