A restaurant specializing in Vietnamese and French foods has closed one of its Triangle locations. Paris Banh Mi abruptly closed in Cary after about two years in business. A sign on the window near the front door states that the restaurant has closed, without providing a reason why. “We regret to inform you that Paris Banh Mi is now permanently closed,” the restaurant wrote on the sign. “Thank you very much for your support over the years. We truly appreciate our customers and the community. We wish everyone the best.” The News & Observer’s attempts to call the restaurant did not go through. The location’s social media pages have been deleted. Located at 712 SE Maynard Road, the restaurant was one of two Paris Banh Mi restaurants in the Triangle. The building previously housed a Five Guys. With the Cary restaurant closed, only the Chapel Hill location remains. That location opened in February in Meadowmont Village. Elsewhere in North Carolina, Paris Banh Mi has locations in Greensboro and Jacksonville. The restaurant is known for its Vietnamese street food including banh mi, along with baked goods and boba tea. Several new restaurants have announced plans to open in Cary soon. Dave’s Hot Chicken and Sweetgreen are expected to open at the Alston Town Center development on the west side of town. Sweetgreen has not shared an opening date, but the spicy chicken chain is expected to open in the third quarter of this year. Lloyd’s Full Service will open in a former service station in downtown Cary at the corner of Chatham and Academy streets this summer. After Triangle coffee shop closes, another takes its place.
