The Graphite business card is part of American Express’ bid to help businesses manage spending, track expenses, and automate routine work. The card is tailored for business owners who want straightforward rewards and flexibility. The card offers 2% cash back on eligible purchases and 5% cash back on flights and prepaid hotels through Amex Travel. The card also comes with incentives tied to higher spending. In addition, the company has introduced expense management software that brings card activity and expense tracking into a single platform. The system allows businesses to issue virtual cards and track employee spending. American Express is also placing greater focus on how AI can fit into day-to-day business operations. Consequently, it has introduced a $300 annual statement credit toward ChatGPT Business subscription costs for holders of its U.S. Business Platinum and Business Gold cards.
