My eyes have never looked more bright and awake than when I use Lumify whitening drops.

Lumify’s whitening eye drops certainly had a notable reputation that existed well before my personal unearthing, but trying them for myself was an experience all on its own. Because, unlike other redness-relieving drops I’ve tried, Lumify doesn’t burn and actually makes my eyes feel genuinely soothed for up to eight hours.

“Lumify’s active ingredient is brimonidine tartrate, which selectively targets venules,” Esfahani said. “Because of this mechanism, blood flow is not significantly restricted.”

According to Esfahani, this type of selective constriction differs from other redness-target drops on the over-the-counter market that use an ingredient called tetrahydrozoline, which causes broad vessel constriction across both smaller veins and larger arteries.

Another Amazon customer who, like me, felt deeply insecure with how the redness was making their eyes look, attributed Lumify’s effectiveness to a regained sense of confidence. And more still appreciate how there’s no discomfort when using this product.

“Contact lens wearers can use Lumify. I recommend using the drops 15–20 minutes before inserting contact lenses. Avoid using the drops while wearing lenses, as this may cause discomfort or changes in vision,” Esfahani said, and in general, the drops can be used every eight hours to maintain this bright-white appearance.
