I'm a seasoned Shopping Editor with more than 10 years of experience covering travel (my favorite), home decor, fashion, and pet products. Whether you count down the days until summer arrives or spend the entire season hiding from the heat, there's no denying that sunburns, bug bites, blisters, and chafing can make the warm-weather months a lot less enjoyable. Fortunately, no matter where you fall on the seasonal enthusiasm spectrum, these products can help. From must-have SPFs and mosquito-repelling bracelets to anti-chafe shorts and portable fans, you won't be sorry you picked these up. Check out a TikTok of the anti-blister balm in action! PS: It comes from small biz BodyGlide. Promising review: "This foot balm is wonderful!! I have had foot problems for as long as I can remember. I often get blisters on my feet, and nothing I tried helped. This product does exactly what I hoped it would. I can walk long distances or stand for hours without pain or blisters. Don't hesitate to give it a try if you have problems with your feet." —Mee Get it from Amazon for $8.99 (also available in packs of two). Promising review: "These are maybe the best bandages I've ever used on my blisters. They are discreet and stay on your feet forever! I had the two largest blisters I've ever had on my heels from new shoes, ordered these and put them on and was able to do intense workouts the next day and didn't feel a thing. Will be buying these for each purse I own!!" —Renee Get them from Amazon for $12.99+ (available in styles for toes, heels, and spots, or in a combination pack). Just slather some on before you dive in, and let it work its magic! PS: Aqua Guard is a small biz. Promising reviews: "Leaves my processed, blonde hair, feeling soft and hydrated. No problems with chlorine green hair." —CR22 "This stuff is AMAZING! Literally nothing else keeps tangles out of my daughter’s hair like this does. Her hair is so thick and very difficult to brush; this makes it easy peasy to brush the tangles out after a swim in the pool. It also softens her hair. When not used, the pool chemicals make her hair very stiff and dry. We even use this every once in a while just because! It smells wonderful and doesn’t make the hair greasy in any way. I cannot recommend this product enough!!!" —Emily Note that the AAD recommends using at least SPF 30 and reapplying as needed for skin protection. You can read about sunscreen myths and facts from dermatologists for more information! Psst — you might recognize the brand because it's behind the TikTok-famous "glass skin" staple, Mixsoon Bean Essence Serum! Check out a TikTok of the Mixsoon sunscreen in action. Promising review: "I’ve been looking for a physical sunscreen with minimal ingredients, and this one really impressed me. It’s affordable and actually protects my skin. I don’t think I’ll ever switch!" —Lisbet Fonseca Moreira Get it from Amazon for $18 (available in two formulations). Check out a TikTok of the Airy Sunstick Smoothing Bar in action. Promising review: "NO WHITE CAST! I've been looking for a stick sunscreen and this was just exactly what was needed!! I'm a medium-toned Black woman and looking for something without a white cast is always a challenge. I have applied it on my bare skin and there isn't a white cast at all! It's a 'soft matte' finish, for sure, and looks like natural skin. Like you're not wearing anything at all." —Martina Get it from Amazon for $14 (also available in a pack of two). Promising reviews: "Wish I had found this sooner! Works great, and so far, the cheapest option I have found for powder sunscreen. Love that my face isn’t greasy anymore from normal sunscreen!" —Michelle "I have fine hair, so anytime I’m in the sun, I get burnt on my scalp. Regular sunscreen makes my hair super oily and gross, and I cannot stand wearing hats. I'm so glad I found this. You do have to apply it more often, and also, it doesn’t work if it gets wet. Love this stuff, it's such a lifesaver." —james Promising review: "These are great for travel. Throw them in your purse or travel bag, or pack them with your toiletries. Lots of great uses. Don’t take up space, don’t count as a liquid, and WORK. Like them a lot." —Lloyd Get a box of 15 from Amazon for $6.99+ (available in four scents or a variety pack). Check out a TikTok of the nausea relief inhaler in action. PS: Allclair is a small biz! Promising review: "Took this on my first cruise. Anytime that I started to feel woozy, I’d reach for it. I’m sure the required act of deep breathing helped a lot — and breathing in the fragrance of the essential oil is very calming and effective. Worked for me! Wonderful!" —Willy&Lilly Get a pack of two from Amazon for $12.99 (also available in a pack of four). Reviewers say they've also had success using it for chemotherapy, menopause, and pregnancy-induced nausea. Here's what BuzzFeeder Elizabeth Lilly has to say: "I bought these more than a year ago, before I went on my first-ever cruise, but didn't need to use them. They've been kicking around the front pocket of my go-to travel backpack since, so I had them handy when I recently went on a driving-heavy (we're talking 1,600+ miles over five days) trip with my parents. My mom suffers from vertigo, and it was really hitting her once we set out on the road. I remembered I had these, and she switched to the back seat and wore them the whole trip because they made such a big difference! Now, did it make driving up the side of the Colorado National Monument's Rim Rock Drive with 23 miles of switchbacks and soaring heights less scary? Eh. Idk. But it made it less woozy! (The drive is absolutely worth it, btw.)" Promising review: "I don’t understand how these work, but they seriously do. These are a duplicate pair I got for a friend after using mine on a bus tour on vacation because I get car sick. They worked incredibly well, even though I was skeptical. Now, my friend uses them on a train commute to and from work. Loaned some to a different friend for a boat ride, and they didn’t get seasick for the first time in their life. Follow the instructions for placement and how/when to press. Seriously magic." —Steph Check out a TikTok of the Laneige Neo Blurring Powder in action. Promising review: "I loved this setting powder, it blurred my pores and blended my makeup so well that even my husband noticed. Wow! I will be buying more before people find it and sell it all out, hehehe." —Charlotte Laim Promising review: "This great little fan is saving me this summer! I use it when I commute, at my nephews’ swim meets, and whenever the heat is overwhelming. You can use it many times on one charge. Great little fan!" —AMH Get it from Amazon for $15.29+ (available in three colors). Depending on your setting, the fan can last four to sixteen hours. Once it needs to be recharged, just connect it to any USB cable. Promising review: "I use it for my commute to/from work. The heat and humidity have been awful, and I tend to perspire A LOT. It definitely keeps my neck cooler. A few people have even stopped me to ask how well it works." —Emily Dominguez Get it from Amazon for $27.19+ (available in five colors). The waterproof patches last 12 hours or through six applications of sunscreen — whichever comes first. When purple, it's time to reapply, and when clear, you're good to go! Promising review: "I am very sensitive to UV rays and I burn very easily. Discovering these UV stickers was the best thing that ever happened to my vacations. They take the guesswork out of knowing when to reapply your sunblock, helping you stay burn-free without watching the clock and doing math. These work with both lotion and spray-on sunscreen. One sticker works all day long and doesn't come off while you are out having fun." —Rachel W. Get them from Amazon for $15.99+ (available in packs of 16 and 48). Megababe is a woman-owned small business from entrepreneur, body acceptance advocate, and influencer Katie Sturino. Promising review: "A must-have for summer. Any thicc thigh folks will know that the summer can be tough. I saw this on TikTok and gave it a shot. It's perfect with shorts or a dress on the inner thighs. I've heard of people with other bodily chafing issues using it on those parts of their body with success." —Faith Get it from Megababe on Amazon for $13.95. Thigh Society is a woman-founded, size-inclusive small business founded by Marnie Consky. I bought two pairs of these a few years back — in black and nude — and I simply love them. Chub rub has always been a part of my life and until now, I didn't have a great way of preventing it. I've tried various sports shorts and slathering my thighs in deodorant, but those methods just weren't cutting it. These shorts are unbelievably lightweight and breathable, superrrrrr stretchy (but not in a way that bags out after extended wear), and they do. not. roll. or. fall. down. I wear them under all of my skirts and dresses (because I also have an irrational fear that everything I wear is see-through when the sun hits it), and I will definitely be buying more! Promising review: "It’s not an exaggeration to say these shorts are life-changing. I’m a chubby living in hot, steamy Florida. Chub rub is inevitable when wearing skirts and dresses. I’ve tried a number of lady boxers and petit pants. They all either rolled up, down, or one leg rode up. They were also hot and non-breathable. These shorts are perfection. No more chub rub, no more swamp a$$! I’m in love. I wish there were more color choices!" —Rachel Get a pair from Thigh Society for $39 (available in women's sizes XS/S–5X/6X, in six lengths, and 11 colors). Promising review: "My children are fair-skinned and extremely easy to burn. Wearing sunscreen is not optional, but they still fight me every time. Using this product was so fast and easy they didn't even complain!!" —Jeshleigh Get it from Amazon for $15.98 (available in 12 colors and in two-packs). This comes with the repeller, one 12-hour fuel cartridge, and three 4-hour repellent mats. You can get refills here. Promising review: "New Orleans is apparently in the top 10 of cities with biting bugs/insects; however, you wouldn't notice if you bought this Thermacell. Give it a good 15 minutes to start up, then hang out outside and give it a try. In the past month (summertime), I've seen one mosquito, and it quickly flew away. That's it. It claims a 15-foot area of protection, but I think that might be a bit optimistic. I set it between my family on our back porch, and we're protected, but if any of us veers much beyond about 10 feet, the bugs will find you. It's still a testament to Thermacell's effectiveness. It works." —X8842 Get it from Amazon for $18+ (available in six colors and a pack of two). Cliganic is a small business that specializes in all-natural personal care products. Promising review: "I moved last year from Southern California to North Carolina. Bugs of all types have always been attracted to me but the amount of bites I got last summer was WILD. Someone gave me one of these types of bracelets to use one day and it seemed to work SOOOOOO I decided to buy myself an arsenal to prepare for this summer. I read the reviews and about 99% of them had great results. I've only used this bracelet twice but both times I was outside and untouched. Delivery was very quick so that was a plus. I'm not fond of the smell, I'm hypersensitive to smells, but I'd rather have the odor than being chewed alive." —Tracey Agopian Get a ten-pack from Amazon for $9.99 (also available in packs of 25, 50, or 100). The Bug Bite Thing (of Shark Tank fame) works on bites from mosquitoes, bees, wasps, biting flies, no-see-ums, and more. Basically, the gadget sucks out insect venom and saliva — two things that lead to itchiness and irritation. With that out, your skin should stop swelling and be back to normal in no time! Promising review: "I am a magnet for bites of all kinds and carry topical and medicines with me at all times — so I figured this would be a good product to see if it really works. I woke up with a bug bite on my arm so I used this little tool (three times per the instructions) — immediately after using, it stopped itching! And less than 24 hours later, the bump/bite was gone! There is a very faint red mark from using the thing, but a small price to pay IMO. Bottom line: it’s awesome. I’m carrying it with me everywhere!" —Rebecca Get it from Amazon for $9.97+ (available in six colors). Promising review: "This stuff is AMAZING. You would never believe it, but it works wonders. One of the worst parts of summer for me is razor burn and chafing/irritation, particularly at the beach when the hair follicles on my legs dry up from the saltwater. This stuff prevents ALL of that. No bumps, no pain, nothing. The best part? It doesn't matter when you put it on. Before you shave, after you shave, even when you're not shaving, going to the beach, getting back from the beach, etc. It just always works." —Claire Get it from Amazon for $19.97+ (available in three sizes). Promising review: "I was so super skeptical about this product. I am not a frequent user of this brand either. I read some good reviews, so I went ahead and bought it ahead of a family cruise. I am so glad I did. I burnt my own shoulders and forehead on day one. When I made it back to my room, I could feel the pain setting in. I immediately applied this. Within a few hours, I could feel relief. I did apply it several times over the course of my vacation. I would recommend this product to anyone, and I will keep it in stock. Better than aloe gel." —Laura In case you're wondering — no, the volcanic roller doesn't mess up your makeup. And once you've given your face a quick touch-up, just twist off the top of the roller to release the stone and give it a wash before your next use. Promising review: "This rolling device is like pure magic. You simply roll it around your oily areas and BOOM, the oil magically vanishes into the ball, never to be seen again! This is an item that #tiktokmademebuy for sure! I saw a video on TikTok and immediately went on the hunt, only to be disappointed that this item was sold out everywhere! I eventually got added to a waiting list here on Amazon, and once they had it in stock again, they charged my card and sent it my way! If you have the chance to purchase this and you have oily skin, get yourself on the waiting list if you need to, and just kick it until it shows up. You will be pleased. Thank me later. ;)" —Veronica Cooper Promising review: "This gel is a lifesaver for me. It's a lightweight, cool, soothing gel that moistens my nasal passages at night, allowing me to get restful sleep. It was recommended to me by my allergy doctor. I use it every night without fail. Try it and see!" —Jeanie Apply it every seven days! This is STRONG, so if you have sensitive skin, the manufacturer suggests you do a spot test first. PS: They also make a version for your face! Promising review: "For anyone who might be skeptical, please allow me to put you at ease. If you have hyperhidrosis, meaning it can be 9 degrees outside and you're still sweating under your arms, this product has the potential to change your life. I would sweat THROUGH a sports coat before noon. Enter the Sweat Block product. I've had it for three weeks, and it is life-changing. I DO NOT sweat under my arms anymore. I'm still on the original box that I bought three weeks ago. I had to write a review after I was cleaning the garage today in 85-degree heat. I was sweating through my shirt on my back — BUT NOT MY UNDERARMS. It is amazing!" —Frosty McGee Get a pack of eight from Amazon for $19.97. Psst — they're also gluten-, soy-, and dairy-free! And certain flavors — like Cherry Ring Pop — are even sugar-free! FYI, depending on your situation, water may be enough to rehydrate you! Read more about electrolyte-enhanced drinks and hydration at Cleveland Clinic. Promising review: "Liquid I.V. is amazing! It really has made my daily life 100% better. I constantly have to give blood samples every day, and not just a little, like at least 100cc every day, and when you're dehydrated, it makes this very difficult. And I really just don't have the time to drink water as I should. But with Liquid I.V., I can use three packets a day, and my blood will be flowing like a river. My veins thank you. So, thank you, Liquid I.V., for literally making my quality of life so much better." —wendy griggers Get a 16-pack from Amazon for $23.46+ (available in 18 flavors). Promising review: "Living in New York and using public transportation every day really changes how you think about hand hygiene. Subways, doors, elevator buttons, and other shared surfaces are touched by countless people, so having a sanitizer on hand feels practical. I like this spray format because it’s compact, easy to carry, and quick to use on the go. The mist distributes evenly, dries fast, and doesn’t leave my hands sticky, which is important during a busy day. The packaging is slim and fits easily in a bag or pocket. Overall, it’s a convenient and well-designed option for everyday use, especially if you spend a lot of time commuting or moving around the city." —Valeriia Get the set of three from Amazon for $30 (available in various scent combinations; also available in packs of five). The liners come with trimming guidelines so that you can cut the insert to your desired size. Promising review: "Great for summer shoes. Cut to fit your shoe. They are washable and retain their shape after each wash. If you like to go sockless, this is a great option and allows you to wash the insert in case your feet sweat…most do!! The thin 'flat sock' aka insert does take up a tiny bit of space in your shoe. If your shoe is already tight on or across the top of your toes it could be uncomfortable. I would recommend these for purchase and I have purchased them more than once for my husband and me!" —Nanny B Get it from Amazon for $9.97+ (available in two sizes that fit women's sizes 6–13 and four colors).
