President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s claims that nuclear inspections at its damaged nuclear facilities aren’t happening after the U.S. insisted that inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency will take place.

Speaking with the press on Tuesday, Trump bluntly denied the claims after a reporter questioned him over the mixed messaging.

“The Iranians are saying there’s no scheduled visit for the IAEA Inspectors. Is that part of your agreement?” the reporter asked.

“They’re wrong,” Trump replied. “They know they’re wrong. They told us inside, and we have it down, 100% inspections. And if they were right, I’d cancel the meetings right now.”

A separate reporter asked Trump when the inspectors would be on the ground in Iran.

“At the appropriate time. There’s no rush, but they’ll be on the ground at the appropriate time,” the president responded.

Trump claimed in a Tuesday Truth Social post that Iran had “completely agreed to [the] highest level Nuclear inspections” for “infinity.”

“Despite their protestations and false statements to the contrary, coupled with the drumbeat of the Fake News, which is doing everything possible to make the U.S. Victory as small and insignificant as possible, Iran has fully and completely agreed to highest level Nuclear inspections long into the future (Infinity!!!)m” he wrote. “This will insure ‘Nuclear Honesty.’ If they did not agree to this, there would be no further negotiations!” he wrote.

Vice President JD Vance said Monday that Iran would invite IAEA inspectors into the country following what he described as a “very, very good” first day of U.S.-Iran negotiations in Switzerland.

Vance added that Iran, the U.S. and the IAEA would coordinate the inspections “this week, maybe as soon as today.”

However, Iran’s foreign ministry told state media this week that Tehran has made “no new commitments” on nuclear inspections. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei also said that Iran had no plans to allow inspectors to access the nuclear sites that were damaged by the U.S. and Israel last year.
